During this workshop students will learn the basics of using the Morton Portable Glass Shop to create a mosaic bowl. A demonstration of Stamping on Glass will be given during class to show how you can add an extra special touch to your projects. In class we will focus on sharpening your glass cutting skills with the ultimate tool for producing accurate and repetitive glass pieces. Students will learn precision strip cutting, square cutting and how to accurately measure pieces when the smallest increment makes a difference. Using their newly developed skills students will cut and design a mosaic style piece. The pieces made in class will be full fused and slumped into a square bowl. Color selection, project planning and execution will be discussed.
COE 96 will be used in this class.
Students need to bring: Closed toed shoes, a Toyo glass cutter, safety glasses, and any tools you prefer to use (i.e. Running pliers, grozers).
