(REPEAT of FRIDAY CLASS)
Come sharpen your glass cutting skills! In this class the Morton Portable Glass Shop will be featured. For over 30 years the Morton Portable Glass Shop (MPGS) has provided hobbyists and professional glass artists the ultimate tool for producing accurate and repetitive glass pieces. A brief portion of class will be dedicated to discussion on cutting tools available and proper cutting technique. Many styles of glass cutters will be available in class for participants to sample. Students will learn how to set up the MPGS for cutting strips, geometric shapes, angles, and how to quickly cut diamonds and triangles from strips and squares. Experienced glass artists all agree you will benefit greatly by understanding all the MPGS has to offer. Hands-on cutting and demonstrations will strengthen your Morton skills. Time permitting students will have the opportunity to learn circle cutting the easiest way possible. Using 96 COE, students will create a mid-sized geometric piece which we will fuse for you. This class is ideal for glass fusers as well as stained glass artists.
Students need to bring: Toyo glass cutter, safety glasses, running pliers, miscellaneous other favorite hand tools.
